My Favorite 9 Right Now - Updated

To quote one of my favorite M.C. 's ,and probably the best that ever did it, Rakim "It's been a long time..." The fact of the matter Is that I'm not really collecting cards anymore.At least ,not the way I used to.I don't buy packs anymore and It's only once In a blue moon that a particular player will strike my fancy enough for me to go online and pick up his cards.I will,however,pick up any Mets players ,especially homegrown guys,that make  MLB impact.Hence the reason for this quick update.As you can see Peter Alonso ,Jeff McNeil and Keith Hernandez have all made their way into my Favorite 9 card sheet  ,while the elusive Cespedes ,injury prone Bryant and Ultra Pro Canseco have been voted off the island.

Also ,quoting another one of my all time favorite M.C's ,Big Pun ,even though "I'm Not A Player" anymore ,I still appreciate the game.I still love looking at baseball cards and look forward to seeing new card designs every year.There is just so much out there - online exclusives, parallels ,variations- that I just can't keep up with  anymore. I'll never stop being interested In baseball cards,but I refuse to let It drive me batty either.Ironic how the "overproduction" era of baseball cards , was a much simpler time. 

My Favorite 9 Right Now - Updated

I believe It was Junior Junky ,of Baseball Cards Of Griffey,Jr. And Beyond who started the whole "favorite 9 card " thing ,and I've ran with it.I really liked the idea because this always changes for me.Much like the action figures In my collection,certain cards grow on me for a certain length of time.And then I just won't like them anymore.So here's my 9 pockets of baseball card favs ,for the time being.

I know Conforts just got sent down ,but It doesn't take away from the awesomeness of his 91 Topps Archives card.Also,the Canseco Ultra Pro coincidentally knocks out Chipper Jones's actual 91 Topps card.

First off,a special thanks to Junior Junkie , the inspiration behind this post .I had fun.Oh,and thanks for the quick and  quality cut and paste job (butchered Kris Bryant aside) with the card pics I sent over . Homie Is pretty damn fast!Initially ,this wasn't as hard as I thought It would be,but In retrospect ,some very cool cards In my collection got overlooked.Not that the 9 I chose aren't "Favorite 9" worthy   ,because they most certainly are.In fact I think I was pretty honest with myself about It,even though I could have easily added to the list.It's kind of like when someone says something and then asks you to say the first thing that comes to your mind.Well,these were the first 9 that came to my mind.I love the 9 cards I chose.These cards get stared at a little longer than the others when I'm rummaging through my  collection.The level of admiration I have for some are based on star power,while others,like the Canseco,Jefferies and Jones, are just childhood favorites.So without further adieu,  my favorite 9 right now....
